Job Summary

The Driver Generic Job Profile, at the G-2 level, is to be used in a UNICEF country office and generally reports to the Operation Associate/ Administrative Associate and Programme Specialist who are at the  G-6/P3 level.

The Driver, at the G-2 level, provides reliable and safe driving services, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol whilst ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations.

The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. 

  1. Reliable and safe driving services for staff and officials
  2. Maintenance of assigned vehicle
  3. Documentation of vehicle-related information

Job Requirements

Education: Secondary Education in any related fields.

Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required. 

        • Skills: Safe driving, knowledge of local roads, traffic rules and regulations, basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting, strong communication and interpersonal skills, reliability, professionalism, confidentiality, time management and ability to work under pressure.
        • Language Requirements : All three languages (English, Pashto, and Dari)  - Proficient/Fluent
  • Desirables
    1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
    2.  Advanced defensive driving training 
    3.  Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
