About BARAN:

Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network (BARAN) is a nongovernmental, non-political and independent organization. BARAN has been established in 27.7.2006 registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD)) in order to deliver standard health care, social and educational services including conducting research. Special attention is given to community development by promoting capacity building programs.

Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities:

The Logistic Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the PMO logistics operations to ensure efficient procurement, transportation, safety and welfare and supply chain management. The role ensures timely and cost-effective support to program and operational needs in compliance with internal policies and donor regulations. The Logistic Manager is reportable to Project Manager and the following items are the Key responsibilities of Logistic Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting the logistic related activities.
  • Coordinate logistics support for program activities, field missions, and distribution plans for medical and non-medical items.
  • Forecast logistical needs based on programmatic priorities.
  • Ensuring the management and follow up of stock movement and supplies for the projects according to the BARAN logistic policy.
  • Trained the logistic staff on logistic tasks, stock management, deliveries, registrations, stock cards and procurements procedures.
  • Planning the logistic needs of BARAN projects with cooperation of team and Project Management Team.
  • Evaluation of activities in terms of logistic point of view for the projects.
  • Preparation of purchase orders and taking the approval of Finance and Project Manager for each purchase.
  • Deliveries of the goods after purchase to stock or to the required department or HFs and keeping a copy of delivery notes for purchase.
  • Evaluate supplier quotation based on price, quality, delivery time and compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure the maintenance and setting of communication equipment and water supply system.
  • Ensure maintenance and setting of room for training and stocking of materials.
  • Ensure the maintenance of electricity, vehicles, office & HFs building, stocks, safe room,
  • Lay outing and mapping of all HFs and PO office Building.
  • Ensure that office assets and staff safety and welfare are reviewed on a monthly basis.
  • Implement warehouse security, cleanliness, and stock rotation procedures.
  • Provide monthly logistic update plan to PM and CMO
  • Develop a regular HFs supplies plan .
  • Able to travel to Kabul and other provinces.  

Fleet & Transportation Management:

  • Oversee the management of the vehicle fleet including scheduling, tracking, maintenance, fuel usage, and driver supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Maintain updated vehicle logs and performance reports.
  • Maintain Contract of rented vehicles

Staff Management and Reporting:

  • Supervise and mentor logistics officers, Maintenance officers, drivers, storekeepers, and other related staff.
  • Prepare and submit regular logistics reports to the line manager and CMO.
  • Ensure team compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Plan and carry out regular visits to the field and health facilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree, bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in in logistics management, preferably with an NGO or INGO.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics process, vehicle and warehouse management, and asset tracking system.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and logistics software.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local languages of Afghanistan.
  • Safety and wafer management background
