Job Description:
- Plan, implement, and monitor Integrated Watershed Management (IWM) and Eco-DRR activities in alignment with project goals and community needs.
- Provide technical guidance on soil and water conservation, reforestation, erosion control, and climate the integration of ecosystem-based approaches into local disaster risk reduction planning and activities.
- Identify high-risk areas and design appropriate nature-based solutions such as flood control structures, slope stabilisation measures, and improved water management systems.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide practical training and technical support to farmers and community groups on sustainable land and water use.
- Build the capacity of community-based committees, watershed management committees, and other local structures in IWM and DRR.
- Organise community awareness sessions on disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, and climate change adaptation.
- Support baseline data collection and develop indicators to monitor the effectiveness of IWM and Eco-DRR interventions.
- Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from field activities-resilient agricultural practices.
- Facilitate.
- Seek technical advice from the Project Manager,Project Coordinator, in project activities and impart the knowledge and information to the target beneficiaries through training and demonstration on improved Forest Landscape Restoration.
- With the assistance of project manager/PC will develop quarterly and monthly work plan and budget plans, including monthly monitoring plan.
- Conduct mobilization meetings with target farmers, and promote sustainability through farmer’s participation and involvement in all Agricultural activities.
- He/she will conduct monthly visits to district programme site at 90 % time to field to observe and assess the performance of target beneficiaries’ and provide to them information and technical advice as required.
- He/she will closely work with relevant project field staff and target farmers to implement the project activities and will send monthly progress report against the agreed objectives and outcomes.
Any other duties as and when assigned by the line manager, MD and/or Directorate.
Job Requirements:
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The position holder must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development, or other relevant field, with extensive professional experience in Agriculture, Forest, and Livestock development
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years working experience in international humanitarian relief and/or development, especially in the area of project management in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation
