Job Description:

The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting field implementation, coordination, documentation, and reporting activities under the guidance of the Project Manager. The role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills to assist in delivering timely and effective project services.

 

TOR:

  • Implement planned activities
  • Prepare data and information for project progress reports
  • Provide assistance to project manager
  • Establish effective coordination with project right-holders
  • Collect data from the field staffs
  • Track data into the project database
  • Arrange meetings with project key staff
  • Support the project teams in all activities when required
  • Assist the project field team in preparation of tokens and distribution lists
  • Establish relationships with the local communities and local authorities
  • Participate in district and provincial meetings to represent the project and AWRO
  • Support the day-to-day operations and implementation of project activities in targeted districts
  • Assist in beneficiary identification and verification processes in coordination with local authorities and community elders
  • Ensure proper documentation of distribution records, beneficiary lists, and reports
  • Support the coordination of food and agricultural input distributions, ensuring fair and transparent processes
  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and ensure timely data entry for reporting
  • Liaise with local communities, district authorities, and other stakeholders to support effective communication and coordination
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress updates to the Project Manager
  • Support in organizing training or awareness sessions for beneficiaries, especially for agricultural components
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor in line with the project’s objectives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Social Sciences, Law, Project Management, or a related field, or high school diploma with additional two years of experience
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in humanitarian or development projects
  • Experience working in rural and remote areas; familiarity with Jawzjan province is an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team-working skills
  • Proficiency in Dari and Pashtu; Uzbeki is an asset
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email)
  • Ability to travel to and work in the targeted districts regularly
  • Strong commitment to humanitarian principles, gender equality, and AWRO’s values
