Job Description:


Scope of work:

The WASH Assistant (water quality test focal point) will be responsible for water quality tests on water point (E-coli, FRC, PH, NTU, and Arsenic) tests in WASH activities' target area Balkh  and Laghman provinces, with coordination with Site Engineer and Community mobilizer. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • With the coordination of the WASH committee and team, take water sampling from the site E-coli test.
  • Chlorination of water point with coordination of WASH committee and team.
  • Conduct Arsenic test at the village level with coordination of water committee and team.
  • Conduct an FRC test at the household level with coordination of the Water Committee and team.
  • water surveillance (early warning on dry up and turbidity.
  • to monitor the water tables in the rehabilitated water systems. This activity will be coupled with community-level awareness/capacity-building around water resources management.  
  • Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly report to WASH officer.
  • Perform any task assigned to the WASH officer.

Flexibility/adaptability: This requires the candidate to have the sufficient capacity to adapt to the IMC work methodology and different work environments (office and field) that the candidate might have later during a mission.

Important Point: You will be asked to travel or be deployed anywhere within the program area to perform services. There may be some insecure areas where you may need to travel and perform the activity without any hesitation in coordination with the security department.


Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from water Engineering or equivalent Degree in the water quality test.
  • At least 2 years of technical experience in the water quality test.
  • Familiarity with different water quality tests and hygiene.
  • Prefer to the residential province
